Important. e2 care is a monitoring and notification aid. It is not a medical device
and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It is not an emergency service
and is not a substitute for professional care, supervision, or contacting local emergency services. Alerts depend on
sensors, connectivity, and settings, and may be delayed or missed.
This Privacy Policy explains how [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("we", "us", "our"), the provider of
the e2 care application and related services (the "Service"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information. By
creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Who this Policy applies to
The Service is used by caregivers, family members, and care staff ("Account Holders", "you") to
monitor care recipients ("Residents") using connected fall-detection and door sensors, and to receive
alerts. This Policy covers three groups of people whose data we process:
Account Holders who register and sign in;
Residents who are monitored through the Service;
Family members and emergency contacts who receive alerts.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account and profile information
Name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash);
Account role (e.g. administrator, caregiver, family);
If you choose to connect Telegram: your Telegram ID, username, name, and profile photo, used to deliver alerts.
2.2 Resident information (entered by Account Holders)
To provide monitoring, the Service stores information about Residents, which may include:
Identity: name, date of birth, profile photo, room or unit;
Health information: medical conditions, medications, and treating doctor's name and phone number;
Location and contact: home address and precise geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude),
and emergency contact details;
Care events: fall events (including sensor/accelerometer readings, confidence score, severity,
and notes), door and activity events, alerts, escalation records, and daily activity summaries.
2.3 Family member and emergency contact information
Name, email address, phone number, and relationship to the Resident, used to send and escalate alerts.
2.4 Device and sensor information
Connected sensor identifiers (hardware address), type, name, location, battery level, and signal strength;
Mobile push-notification tokens and basic device type/name, used to deliver notifications.
2.5 Information collected automatically
IP address, browser/user-agent, and activity logs (such as sign-ins and key actions), used for security and
troubleshooting;
Timestamps associated with events and alerts.
Much of the data above concerns other people (Residents and contacts). If you provide it, you confirm
that you are authorised to do so and, where required by law, that you have obtained their consent or otherwise have a
lawful basis to share it with us for monitoring purposes. See Section 9.
3. How we use information
Detect potential falls and unusual activity and generate alerts;
Deliver notifications through your chosen channels (push, email, SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram) and run the escalation
flow when alerts are not acknowledged;
Where you enable it, share event information with emergency contacts or emergency responders;
Create daily summaries and show event history;
Create and secure accounts, authenticate users, and prevent abuse;
Provide support, maintain, and improve the Service;
Comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases for processing (where GDPR/UK GDPR applies)
Contract: to provide the Service you have signed up for;
Consent: for optional features and for processing health data, where required;
Vital interests: to alert caregivers or responders about a potential fall or emergency;
Legitimate interests: to secure the Service and prevent misuse;
Legal obligation: where the law requires it.
Health information is treated as a special category of data and is processed only where a valid lawful basis and
condition (such as explicit consent or protection of vital interests) applies.
5. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as described here:
Within your care circle: Account Holders and contacts linked to a Resident can see that
Resident's status, alerts, and relevant details, according to their role;
Service providers (sub-processors) who process data on our behalf under contract, including
hosting, push notifications, email, SMS, and messaging delivery. Current providers include:
[LIST YOUR PROVIDERS — e.g. hosting, Firebase/FCM, Twilio SMS, WhatsApp provider, email provider, Telegram];
Emergency contacts and responders: where an alert or an automatic emergency-dispatch feature is
triggered, relevant Resident information (which may include location and health context) may be shared to enable
a response;
Legal and safety: to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights and safety of
users;
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this
Policy.
6. International data transfers
We may process and store information in [COUNTRIES/REGIONS]. Where data is transferred
across borders, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required by law.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for the periods described here:
[STATE YOUR RETENTION PERIODS — e.g. account data until deletion; event/alert history for X months].
When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.
8. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS),
hashed passwords, access controls, and activity logging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and
we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your responsibilities as an Account Holder
Because you enter information about Residents and contacts, you agree to provide accurate information, to have the
authority or consent needed to share it, and to inform those individuals about how their data is used through the
Service where appropriate.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of
your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to lodge a
complaint with your data protection authority
([SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY, if applicable]).
You can access and update much of your information in the app. To request account deletion or exercise other rights,
use the in-app account-deletion option or contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL]. Requests concerning a
Resident's data should be made by the responsible Account Holder or the Resident's authorised representative.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for use by adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data
from children as Account Holders. Where a Resident is a minor, the Account Holder confirms they have the legal authority
to provide that Resident's information.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date.
Material changes will be communicated through the Service where appropriate.
